If the social scientist is to be more than a mere technician
It is necessary that the work of the social scientist cross disciplines and search its historic past if there is to be an examination of persistent and recurrent social psychological problems which go beyond mere technicianship. The example of intergroup relations is used to illustrate 1 such problem.
